The Nations League third division

The Nations League third division game between «Kosovo» and «Romania» abruptly ended as Kosovar players left the field following an incident with Romanian supporters.

The team from «Kosovo» unexpectedly left the field during the final phase of the third division (League C) match of the Nations League against «Romania». After the score remained at 0:0 in added time of the second half, Kosovar players opted not to continue the match.

The match was temporarily paused. This encounter was held in the Romanian capital, Bucharest. According to journalist Arlind Sadiku, Romanian fans chanted slogans supporting Serbia, displayed Serbian flags, and threw objects onto the field.

Approximately a year ago, a similar incident occurred during the Euro-2024 qualification match between the same teams, where the game was interrupted. Following an official inquiry, UEFA penalized the Romanian team with a match without spectators.

The teams «Kosovo» and «Romania» are striving to lead Group 2 of League C, which offers a chance to advance to the Nations League second division.
