Serhiy Rebrov Reflects on Dynamo's Defeat in the Europa League

"Dynamo" remains pointless after the match against "Ferencvaros". Serhiy Rebrov discusses the challenges facing the team.

The coach of the Ukrainian national team, Serhiy Rebrov, shared his thoughts on the crushing defeat of "Dynamo" against "Ferencvaros" in the Europa League with a score of 0:4 in a recent interview.

According to Rebrov, anyone with even a basic understanding of the game saw what happened that night. The red card, which radically altered "Dynamo's" game plan, was impossible to ignore. Coach Oleksandr Shovkovskyi intended to play in an attacking style and gain their first points in the tournament, but after the sending-off, the team had to play with ten men, which is an extremely challenging task on the international stage.

The current "Dynamo" differs from what it used to be. Today, the team mainly consists of young Ukrainian players. In the last match, only one of their legionnaires, a forward from Panama, took the field, and even then it was as a substitute. There are quite a few talented and skillful athletes in the squad, but unfortunately, in present circumstances, foreign players are not eager to move to Kyiv.

In contrast, "Shakhtar" holds eleven legionnaires, although the club also doesn’t reside in its native Donetsk city. Instead, it plays matches of the national championship in the safer venue of Lviv.

It's also worth mentioning that the Kyiv club has lost all four of its Europa League matches and has yet to score in its encounters.
