Alexander Sobolev won't become the top scorer of the RPL, but could be a key player for Zenit — according to Vlastimil Petrzhela.

Former Zenit coach Vlastimil Petrzhela shared with journalists his thoughts on the prospects of the Russian forward for the Saint Petersburg club, Alexander Sobolev.

In an interview, the specialist noted that the 27-year-old might fulfill a role similar to that of the Norwegian Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who was known for coming off the bench and scoring vital goals.

Petrzhela emphasized that under current conditions, competing for a spot in the main squad would be extremely challenging for Sobolev.

‘For this reason, Sobolev will never become the top scorer in the Premier League,’ he stated.

It should be noted that Alexander Sobolev has participated in four matches in the current Russian championship with the blue-white-sky blues but has yet to record any goals or assists.
