According to OptaFranz, Müller notched his first goal of the current Champions League season. He has now scored in 16 seasons of the tournament, equaling the achievements of Ryan Giggs and Ronaldo. Only Lionel Messi and Karim Benzema have more, each with 18 seasons.
'Bayern' is currently eighth in the overall Champions League standings, accruing 12 points over six matches. 'Shakhtar' is placed 27th with four points. In the seventh round on January 22, the Ukrainian team will host France's 'Brest', while the Munich side will visit the Dutch club 'Feyenoord'.
