Erling Haaland set to become Premier League's top scorer
With a new ten-year deal at "Manchester City", Erling Haaland is expected to break Premier League records, backed by Alan Shearer.
"Man Utd" forward Marcus Rashford may move to "AC Milan". "Milan" is interested in the player, but talks have yet to begin.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic does not need to persuade "Man Utd" forward Marcus Rashford to join one of the most prestigious clubs in the world – "AC Milan".
Rashford is expected to leave the "Red Devils" this month, and he has attracted interest from numerous European giants. The likeliest scenario is a loan, as "Man Utd" reportedly wants £50million for their academy graduate.
Marcus hasn't featured under Ruben Amorim since December 12 against "Viktoria Plzen" in the Europa League, when he likely played his final match for his boyhood club.
New coach Amorim has not been impressed by Rashford's behavior off the pitch or his performances on it, while Sir Jim Ratcliffe is more than happy to shift the player's huge £325,000-a-week salary. "Milan" is among the clubs interested in signing the 27-year-old in the January transfer window, although "Barcelona", "Juventus", "Napoli", "Borussia Dortmund", "AS Monaco", and teams from Saudi Arabia are also keen.
It's reported that Rashford has already turned down a move to the Middle East as he aims for a return to the England squad under Thomas Tuchel, who officially replaced Gareth Southgate on New Year's Day.
Sporting advisor to "Milan", Ibrahimovic, denied rumors of talks with Rashford’s representatives, but hinted they might start soon.
"I know Rashford well, I played with him when he was young, now he's an adult and has achieved great things with "Man Utd"," Ibrahimovic said. "I don't think I need to convince him since "Milan" is one of the biggest clubs in the world, and everyone wants to come here. As of today, the operation is not easy, but we haven't spoken to him yet. We'll see if we will speak to him."
"Man Utd" faces "Arsenal" in the third round of the FA Cup on Sunday, and Rashford's participation looks very slim.
According to Manchester Evening News, Amorim is expected to field a strong team at the "Emirates", but Rashford does not appear to be involved. There's no confirmation, but the England attacker was not among the "Man Utd" players seen leaving for the weekend FA Cup tie with "Arsenal".
The report states that Altay Bayindir will replace Andre Onana in goal, while young midfielder Toby Collyer has traveled. Rashford's first matchday squad omission came against Manchester City on December 15. He did return for a Premier League match against "Newcastle United" 15 days later but was an unused substitute. His absence from the squad for last Sunday's game against "Liverpool" at "Anfield" was down to illness, Amorim claimed. "Arsenal" is actually one of the teams linked with Rashford. While Mikel Arteta could use more firepower up front, that transfer seems highly unlikely.
