Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola shares his thoughts on the team's heavy defeat against Tottenham in the previous round of the English Premier League.
The head coach of Manchester City, Pep Guardiola, expressed his opinion regarding the loss in the match against Tottenham during the 12th round of the English Premier League. The game ended in a landslide defeat for his team, who lost 0-4.
“When you lose with such numbers, it's hard to find words other than congratulating the opponent, Tottenham,” Guardiola admitted. “We performed quite decently on the field and created many opportunities. But at this moment we are very vulnerable, and it shows — we find it challenging to score goals. Football is a game of mood, and consistent victories strengthen your belief in your abilities. However, three consecutive losses in the league leave a particularly unpleasant impression.”
Guardiola emphasized the need for hard work to improve performance and boost team morale. He also stressed that despite expecting downturns, the team always demonstrated consistency. Nevertheless, what happened to them is part of both football and life, and they are not accustomed to such a series of losses. “We must put in maximum effort for changes, especially in the upcoming match,” added the coach.
In the next round on December 1st, Tottenham will host Fulham, while Manchester City will travel for an away match with Liverpool.
