New Man Utd Coach Demands Squad Reinforcements

Ruben Amorim insists on signing

Ruben Amorim insists on signing Nuno Mendes at Man Utd, frustrated with his new team.

New "Man Utd" boss Ruben Amorim has insisted on the "Red Devils" acquiring "Paris Saint-Germain" player Nuno Mendes, according to sources.

Amorim took the helm of "Man Utd" at the start of this month, succeeding Erik ten Hag, who managed only three wins in their nine opening Premier League games. Ruud van Nistelrooy added four more points during his tenure as interim manager, bringing the "Red Devils" up to 13th place.

On Saturday, under Amorim's guidance, "Man Utd" drew 1-1 with "Ipswich Town", moving up to 12th place. Amorim was "frustrated" with some of his team members against the "Tractor Boys" over the weekend and is already looking to bring in new players during the January transfer window and beyond.

Reports from Spain claim that Amorim has prioritized the signing of Mendes to fit his new 3-4-3 system. Mendes has established himself "as one of the best in his position" and has emerged "as a key target for the "Red Devils" ahead of next season."

Amorim knows Mendes from his time at "Sporting" before the Portuguese defender moved to "Paris" on a season-long loan in the summer of 2021, after which the French side triggered his release clause of €38m. Despite hopes that the new system could bring out the best in Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia, neither of the two "Man Utd" left-backs can be fully trusted for an entire season.

Signing Mendes from "Paris Saint-Germain" "won't be an easy task," as he is "one of its most valuable assets," but "Man Utd" is willing to explore all possibilities for his acquisition. Reports from Spain also suggest that "Paris Saint-Germain" has taken a "major step towards signing Marcus Rashford by directly contacting his entourage." Rashford opened the scoring in the match against "Ipswich Town," which ended in a 1-1 draw.
