Vorskla's main goalkeeper Pavel Isenko

Vorskla's main goalkeeper Pavel Isenko suffered a serious meniscus injury in the match against Shakhtar, surgery is possible. Recovery depends on the type of intervention.

The key goalkeeper of "Vorskla" Pavel Isenko suffered a serious injury in the second half of the game against "Shakhtar" (1:3) as part of the 16th round of the UPL. Details are provided by the Poltava club's telegram channel.

"The examination confirmed the initial diagnosis - a meniscus injury. Surgical intervention is recommended, which is most likely to be performed in Kyiv. Arthroscopic investigation will determine whether the meniscus can be sutured or needs to be removed. Players return faster, on average within a little over a month, if the meniscus is removed. If it is preserved, the rehabilitation process takes longer, but career prospects are more favorable," the publication states.

This season, Isenko guarded "Vorskla"'s goal in 17 matches across all tournaments, conceding 26 goals. He kept a clean sheet five times.
