Man Utd: Future of Altay Bayindir and Transfer Plans

Goalkeeper Altay Bayindir hints at possible departure from 'Man Utd' in search of match practice.

'Man Utd' goalkeeper Altay Bayindir has implied that he might need to depart the 'Red Devils' in 2025 to secure consistent first-team appearances. The 'Red Devils' invested ample time and resources into Erik ten Hag before opting to dismiss him earlier this season following a dismal start to the new campaign.

During Ten Hag's tenure at the club, 'Man Utd' heavily invested in new signings, overhauling their goalkeeping unit entirely as iconic goalkeeper David de Gea left the club. Andre Onana arrived as the first-choice 18 months ago, while Bayindir was brought in to provide competition at the Premier League magnitude, and Tom Heaton remained as a backup.

Bayindir joined from Turkish powerhouses 'Fenerbahce' in a £4.3m deal in the summer of 2023 but has only partaken in three matches across all competitions and hasn't yet appeared in a Premier League fixture for 'Man Utd'. The club aimed to retain the Turkish international until the season's end but might be compelled to consider a sale in January as Bayindir pushes for increased playing time.

The report suggested that 'United' is evaluating goalkeeping options in case No. 2 Bayindir exits during the January transfer window. The Turkish international was brought to 'Old Trafford' from 'Fenerbahce' for £4.3 million in summer 2023 as backup to Andre Onana and has only made appearances in domestic cup competitions. Bayindir, at 26, wishes for more first-team action and has been linked with a move to 'Celtic' over the summer.

Bayindir voiced to 'BeIN Sports' concerns about his future with 'Man Utd', hinting he may have to leave unless he sees more pitch time. He expressed, "It feels great to be here, but I need to find more playing time in my position. If you are content not playing, it's not a positive indicator for a professional."
