Kylian Mbappe on rekindling friendship with Lionel Messi after dramatic final

Kylian Mbappe shared how he managed to restore relations with Lionel Messi after the intense final between "France" and "Argentina".

"France" national team forward Kylian Mbappe revealed how he reconciled with Lionel Messi after their bitter defeat in the World Cup final.

In the decisive match of WC-2022, the "France" team lost to "Argentina" in a penalty shootout (3:3, 4:2). Mbappe achieved a hat-trick and scored his penalty during the shootout series, while Messi scored twice and also contributed in the penalties.

After the tournament, the players reunited in the "PSG" team, for which both were playing at the time. Mbappe shared his thoughts:

— I was furious, but I showed respect to Messi, because it's him. Soon the ice melted, and we started joking like friends. I think this final actually brought us closer. I intend to compete again at the World Cup, it is a real challenge for a player, — he stated in an interview. Mbappe became the top scorer of WC-2022 with 8 goals, while Messi took second place with seven.
