West Ham could replace Lopetegui with Allegri

West Ham is in talks

West Ham is in talks with Allegri to possibly replace Lopetegui, while also considering an interim manager post-Wolves game.

Reports suggest "West Ham" have engaged in discussions with Max Allegri to potentially replace Julen Lopetegui, while also having an interim manager ready to take charge after the "Wolves" match, should the result not favor the "Hammers".

Lopetegui faces immense pressure ahead of the El Sackico against "Wolves" on Monday, having lost seven out of 14 matches since taking over from David Moyes in the summer. His counterpart, Gary O'Neil, who took over "Wolves" from Lopetegui at the start of last season, is also battling for his future.

Lopetegui reportedly had two games to save his job ahead of matches against "Newcastle" and "Arsenal". He remains in his position, having secured a win over the "Magpies" but suffered defeats against the "Gunners" and "Leicester".

The "Hammers" hierarchy has a backup plan ready ahead of the "Wolves" visit. According to talkSPORT, "West Ham" bosses have engaged in talks with former "Juventus" manager Allegri about taking Lopetegui's place at the "London Stadium", but the legendary Italian has indicated he 'is reluctant to take a job in the Premier League mid-season and would only consider next summer'.

Thus, the club is exploring temporary options, with Graham Potter believed to be 'willing to take the position' on a short-term basis. Potter has been linked with various positions since being sacked by "Chelsea" in April last year, having lost 11 of his 31 matches as the "Blues" manager, leaving them in 11th place in the Premier League. Having taken a break from the game, he is 'ready to return to the dugout for the right opportunity'.

He is currently the bookies' favorite to take over at "Tottenham", with Ange Postecoglou under significant pressure after a 4-3 loss to "Chelsea" on Sunday, following a 1-0 defeat to "Bournemouth" midweek. However, Daniel Levy voiced support for the Australian on Monday, with Lopetegui currently ahead of Postecoglou in the sack race. "West Ham" legend Tony Cottee voiced on BBC Sounds Sacked In The Morning podcast that Lopetegui should never have been given the job initially.
