A remarkable performance in the CAF Confederation Cup: Youssef Zghoudi scores twice for RS Berkane against Stellenbosch FC.

Right winger Youssef Zghoudi netted two goals within 15 minutes to lead Morocco's "RS Berkane" to a 3-1 triumph over "Stellenbosch FC" in a CAF Confederation Cup fixture in Durban on Sunday. This marked his first goals since June.

"RS Berkane" got off to a fast start in what was always going to be a tricky tie away from home, especially since "Stellenbosch" is making its debut in African club competition this year. The right-winger impressed with his performance, scoring both his goals with his head instead of his feet. He hopes to continue this form in the Botola Pro, where he is yet to score this season in 10 appearances (four starts).

Zghoudi has been a stalwart for "Berkane" since joining the first team in the 2019/20 season and netted three goals and two assists on their way to reaching the CAF Confederation Cup final last season, where they lost to "Zamalek" on away goals. He played in all their group stage games and the second leg of their quarter-final against "Abu Salim Club", but then did not appear until the second leg of the final in Cairo.

This campaign, Zghoudi featured in every CAF Confederation Cup match and has now recorded his first two goals. It is the first time in his career that he has scored a brace in a major competition fixture.
