RS Berkane Coach Warns Players

"RS Berkane" has reached CAF Cup quarter-final, but their coach warns against complacency.

Head coach of "RS Berkane", Moine Chaabani, has urged his crew not to settle into complacency despite advancing to the quarter-finals of the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup with two games still at hand.

The Moroccan squad is in blazing form both nationally and across the continent, soaring to new heights this season. Sitting at the top of the Moroccan league with 39 points from 16 games, "Berkane" has also secured their spot in the quarter-finals by collecting maximum points in Group B of Africa's second-tier club competition.

Their latest 1-0 triumph over "Stade Malien" in Bamako on Sunday extended their impeccable run in the tournament. Imad Riahi's 64th-minute strike was enough to achieve "Berkane's" fourth consecutive group-stage victory, further solidifying their status as one of Africa's most in-form teams.

“As much as I am pleased and proud of what the players are delivering this season and their significant sacrifices, I want us to persist with the same steadfastness, humility, and keep our feet firmly on the ground,” Chaabani emphasized. “Nothing has been accomplished yet.”

The win ensures "Berkane" remains the frontrunner of Group B with 12 points, six clear of second-placed "Stellenbosch", who defeated "CD Lunda Sul" 2-0 earlier in the day. "Stade Malien" is positioned third with four points, while "Lunda Sul" anchors the bottom with one.

Chaabani, who guided "Berkane" to the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup final last season, stressed the importance of focus as they prepare for their next fixture against the Angolan "CD Lunda Sul" on Sunday.

“We started the season with clear objectives, but to achieve them, we must remain humble and consistent,” he added. With "Berkane" eyeing both domestic and continental triumphs, Chaabani’s message serves as a reminder that their journey is far from over, and maintaining momentum will be crucial to realizing their goals.
