Antonio Conte is interested in bringing another 'Manchester United' player to 'Napoli' this winter.

According to rumors, 'Napoli' manager Antonio Conte has given his approval for signing another 'Manchester United' player in January following the successful transfer of Scott McTominay. The former 'Chelsea' and 'Tottenham Hotspur' coach returned to the football world ahead of the 2024/25 season by joining the Italian club 'Napoli'.

Under Conte, 'Napoli' was active in the summer transfer market, spending over £20 million to acquire Scottish player McTominay from 'Manchester United'. The 28-year-old has proven himself a valuable asset for 'Napoli', scoring four goals and providing two assists in 14 appearances for the Italian team. Conte is reportedly ready for another approach to 'Manchester United' as he is interested in acquiring Dutch forward Joshua Zirkzee.

The forward became 'Manchester United's first summer signing when the club activated his release clause of £34 million to sign him from the Italian club 'Bologna'. Zirkzee's start at 'United' was promising, scoring in his Premier League debut against 'Fulham', securing a 1-0 victory. Yet, the 23-year-old failed to maintain his form and faced severe criticism for his performances this season.

Zirkzee ended his eleven-match goal drought in the Premier League earlier this month, scoring twice in 'Manchester United's 4-0 home victory over 'Everton', but remains under scrutiny and is reportedly one of the reasons former sporting director Dan Ashworth was dismissed.

'Manchester United' is being linked with several potential reinforcements as the club reportedly seeks a proficient goalscorer, which might open an opportunity for Zirkzee to return to Italy, and 'Napoli' is among the interested teams.

A report in Italy claims Conte has given the nod for 'Napoli' to target Zirkzee 'in January', having 'desired to sign him in the summer'. Conte is said to have 'sanctioned Zirkzee's arrival', as he has 'requested reinforcements' when the winter transfer window opens.

'The Napoli head coach has signaled approval for the arrival of Joshua Zirkzee for the next winter transfer season. The striker is not performing convincingly at 'Manchester United' and would welcome a return to Italy after a successful stint with 'Bologna' last season. Conte already wanted to focus on Zirkzee this summer, but the costs were prohibitive.' 'Napoli' is second in Serie A after 15 matches, having been surpassed by an in-form 'Atalanta', which is unbeaten in 14 matches across all competitions and has not lost since September. Conte's team is currently two points behind the table leaders.
