Olga Smorodskaya Discusses Kazakhstan's Chances in the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers

Olga Smorodskaya shared her opinion

Olga Smorodskaya shared her opinion on the draw results for Kazakhstan in the 2026 World Cup qualifying tournament.

Former "Lokomotiv" president Olga Smorodskaya commented on the results of the 2026 World Cup qualifying draw for "Kazakhstan".

Stanislav Cherchesov's team was placed in a group with "Belgium", "North Macedonia", "Wales", and "Liechtenstein". Smorodskaya expressed skepticism about "Kazakhstan's" chances of advancing to the 2026 World Cup, given that under Cherchesov's leadership, the team has neither won nor scored.

Fate's irony brought Cherchesov against "Belgium" once again. On her remark about the benefits of the Nations League for the team despite poor outcomes, Smorodskaya replied that Cherchesov should remain resilient and stick to his plan, yet she doubts his team will succeed at this qualifying stage.

Previously, Cherchesov and his predecessor Magomed Adiev also shared their thoughts on the draw. Sixteen teams from Europe will participate, with the final stage set in the USA, Canada, and Mexico, culminating in New York on July 19, 2026.
