During the draw process for the WC-2026 conducted by FIFA, a broadcast featured a map where Crimea was not part of Ukraine. This prompted an immediate response from the "Ukrainian Sports Association", which sent an official letter of protest.

The international organization promptly responded to the address, expressing appreciation for highlighting the issue. As stated in the response, "FIFA" acknowledges the significance of the pointed issue and admits that the problem arose due to an external contractor responsible for creating the infographic. Upon discovering the error, a decision was made to urgently withdraw the image from circulation. Moreover, the organization initiated an internal investigation to prevent such situations in the future.

FIFA recognizes the sensitivity of the topic and expresses regret over any moral damage that may have been caused. Collaboration and the implementation of measures to resolve the issue remain a priority, and the organization is always ready to provide additional clarifications or conduct a more in-depth discussion if necessary.

The response is signed by the head of the association relations department Elhan Mamedov. It is important to note that no official apologies were made by "FIFA" in this letter.
