"Sergey Kleschenko" retains leadership over the Moldovan team in the decisive matches on the path to the 2026 World Championship.

The Moldovan federation announced that Sergey Kleschenko will remain in the position of head coach of the national team. This experienced 52-year-old specialist is entrusted with leading the team in the matches of the qualifying cycle for the 2026 world tournament.

The Moldovan team will compete in Group I of European qualification, where they will face teams from "Norway", "Israel", "Estonia", and the strongest from the "Germany"/"Italy" pair. The group winner advances directly to World Cup 2026, while the second place will continue in the playoffs.

Mr Kleschenko, leading the team since December 2021, previously played in Russian clubs such as "Zenit", "Sibir", "Chernomorets", and "Metallurg-Kuzbass".
