Results of the XVII Round of the Premier League: «Qarabag» Back on Top

«Qarabag» defeated «Sumgayit» to lead the standings. «Neftchi» and «Sabah» claimed victories, while «Zira» and «Turan Tovuz» settled for a draw.

The Premier League concluded its seventeenth round. In the final match, «Qarabag» defeated «Sumgayit», allowing them to rise to the top of the rankings. «Neftchi» and «Sabah» celebrated wins in their matches. The clash between «Zira» and «Turan Tovuz» ended without a winner.

The opening game of the round saw no goals scored. Under the leadership of Javid Huseynov, «Sabail» secured their first points, while «Shamakhi» remained unbeaten after several rounds.

Former Azerbaijani national player Jeyhun Sultanov remarked in an interview that this round did not bring surprises. Every team showcased their capabilities. As expected, «Qarabag» triumphed over «Sumgayit», and «Shamakhi» drew with «Sabail». There wasn't a match where the outcome was unexpected. In the «Neftchi» vs «Kepaz» game, the home team shone in the first half, while the visitors played well in the second. One more round remains before the winter break, and hopefully, all players will finish the championship injury-free.
