However, the balance was disrupted at the start of the second half when, after a corner, Dumfries scored with a spectacular overhead kick. Notably, "Inter's" right-back became only the fifth Dutch player to score in Italian Super Cup matches, following legends like Frank Rijkaard, Marco van Basten, Ruud Gullit, and Wesley Sneijder.
At the 61st minute, Dumfries struck again, finishing a counterattack with a precise shot under the crossbar. The second Italian Super Cup semifinal between "Juventus" and "Milan" is scheduled for January 3.
