Esteghlal defender Ramin Rezaian faced a financial penalty after warmly embracing a fan before a match. This incident occurred on December 26 ahead of an away game against ChadorMalu as part of the 14th round of the Iran championship.
According to sources, a female fan approached the Esteghlal team at the bus stop to show her support and hugged Rezaian. This act attracted the attention of the Iran Football Federation Ethics Committee.
Following an inquiry, Rezaian received a fine amounting to 510 million rials, equivalent to approximately 10,000 dollars. Such behavior was deemed unacceptable, resulting in the monetary punishment.
