Energetic Victory of 'Enyimba' over

Decisive victory of 'Enyimba' over 'Black Bulls' in the Confederation Cup. Outstanding performance and first goal of Brown Ideye in Uyo.

'Enyimba' from Nigeria, participating in the Confederation Cup, significantly boosted their chances of advancing from the group stage with a commanding 4-1 victory over Mozambique's 'Black Bulls'.

The 'People’s Elephant' delivered an exceptionally effective performance on Sunday at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, scoring three times in the second half. Brown Ideye, a former Super Eagles striker, was among the goalscorers, marking his first strike for the club.

The Aba-based side opened the scoring in the 6th minute through Joseph Atule, who capitalized on a defensive error. However, the 'Black Bulls' quickly responded, leveling the score just six minutes later after a mix-up in 'Enyimba’s' defense. Somairi Alalibo's attempted clearance was misplaced, and the ball found a 'Black Bulls' attacker, setting up for Ejiata Ifoni. The player withstood the defense and poked the ball past goalkeeper Ozoemena Ani to make it 1-1.

'Enyimba' nearly restored their lead in the 25th minute when Elijah Akanni won a free-kick in a dangerous area, but Alalibo's shot flew over the bar. Joseph Atule remained a threat despite missing two clear opportunities. The breakthrough came two minutes before half-time, as Ifeanyi Ihemelekwe brilliantly controlled a cross from Ukadike and unleashed a stunning volley beyond the stranded 'Black Bulls' goalkeeper, restoring the lead.

The second half confirmed the dominant position of the Nigerian champions. 'Enyimba' could have extended their lead earlier, but Atule's inefficiency in front of the goal allowed the visitors to linger in the game. The introduction of Brown Ideye in the 60th minute was strategically pivotal. The former West Bromwich Albion forward made an immediate impact by scoring just six minutes after entering the field.

Receiving a meticulously weighed pass from Atule, Ideye expertly bypassed the 'Black Bulls' goalkeeper and calmly slotted the ball into the net, making it 3-1. This was Ideye's first goal for 'Enyimba' since joining the club in December. Joseph Atule redeemed his misses by adding 'Enyimba's' fourth goal, securing an impressive first win in the competition for the team.
