Taiwo Awoniyi Scores in Nottingham Forest's Brilliant Victory

Taiwo Awoniyi celebrates goal for

Nigerian forward Taiwo Awoniyi scores his season's first goal helping "Nottingham Forest" to secure a 3-0 victory over "Wolves" in an enthralling match.

Super Eagles striker, Taiwo Awoniyi, scored his first goal of the season as "Nottingham Forest" defeated "Wolves" 3-0 at Molineux on Monday evening.

The 27-year-old forward capitalized on a pass by Morgan Gibbs-White to net the third goal, securing a significant victory that placed "Nottingham Forest" on joint second with "Arsenal" in the league table.

Taiwo Awoniyi began the match on the bench, with Chris Wood preferred in the starting lineup again.

Meanwhile, another Super Eagles member, Ola Aina, was in the starting eleven for Forest. In the seventh minute, "Nottingham Forest" turned defense into attack, as Anthony Elanga drove forward and delivered the ball to former "Wolves" player Gibbs-White, who scored to give the visitors an early lead.

A minute before half-time, "Forest" doubled their lead thanks to an excellent run and a precise cross from Callum Hudson-Odoi, putting the away team firmly in control.

Although "Wolves" pushed hard for a goal in the second half, Nigeria’s Taiwo Awoniyi, coming off the bench, added the third. His late strike secured a commanding win for visitors.

Wesley Okoduwa, son of former Nigeria U23 forward Emmanuel Okoduwa, was an unused substitute for "Wolves".

Awoniyi was pleased to open his goal account for the season despite limited on-field time. The Nigerian played just eight minutes after replacing Chris Wood. Awoniyi registered one shot on target and one off target while making five touches on the ball.

Although he missed one big chance, he compensated by getting on the scoreboard. In duels, he struggled on the ground, losing his only attempted ground duel, but fared better in the air, winning one of three aerial duels. It was a decent cameo for the Nigerian forward, who is hopeful to improve as the season goes on.
