Dismissal of Julen Lopetegui from "West Ham"

Julen Lopetegui and West Ham

West Ham parts ways with Julen Lopetegui after disappointing six months, looking for a replacement among renowned coaches.

West Ham United has parted company with head coach Julen Lopetegui just six months following his appointment. The Spanish manager officially took over his duties on July 1. During his tenure, the 'Hammers' secured only six victories in the Premier League.

Saturday's defeat with a scoreline of 4-1 against 'Manchester City' marked their ninth loss in the first 20 matches of the season, leaving the club in 14th place in the standings.

In an official club statement, it was expressed: "The first half of the 2024/25 season did not align with the club's ambitions, necessitating appropriate actions. The board would like to extend thanks to Julen and his team for their dedication during their tenure and wishes them all success in the future."

According to English media, 'West Ham' has already engaged in discussions with former 'Chelsea' and 'Brighton' coach Graham Potter regarding a potential short-term tenure.
