Alexander Kerzhakov, the former forward of "Zenit" and the Russian national team, shared his perspective on the derogatory chants aimed at the Saint Petersburg team during a conversation with journalists.
Kerzhakov mentioned that he is not affected by these remarks at all. The ex-player emphasized that "Zenit" had clinched the championship title in the RPL for six consecutive years, which undoubtedly irks fans of other teams.
According to him, currently, "Zenit" surpasses all rivals in terms of squad composition. He added that the word "disgrace" is too harsh and said he does not agree that "Zenit" is a disgrace to Russian football, labeling it as a flagship team.
At present, the Saint Petersburg club, under the guidance of Sergey Semak, holds the second position in the RPL standings.
