Bruno Onyemaechi shone for Boavista, but it wasn't enough to prevent a defeat to Casa Pia in the Portuguese Primeira Liga.

Defender of "Boavista" Bruno Onyemaechi put on an outstanding display, but his efforts weren't sufficient to avert a 3-2 loss to "Casa Pia" in the Portuguese Primeira Liga on Monday night.

The 26-year-old, who has piqued the interest of Turkish and Greek clubs, showcased his adaptability and talent, scoring his third goal of the season and providing an assist.

"Casa Pia" gained an early advantage benefitting from two own goals by Rodrigo Abascal and Filipe Ferreira in the 30th and 43rd minutes respectively, affording the visitors a comfortable 2-0 lead before halftime.

Nevertheless, "Boavista" showed resilience, pulling one back just before the break.

Operating in a more advanced midfield role, Onyemaechi capitalized on a loose ball after a free kick from "Boavista", tapping it smoothly into the net.

The goal was initially ruled offside, but after a VAR review, it was allowed, sparking hopes for a "Boavista" comeback.

Undeterred, Onyemaechi turned provider later, delivering a precise assist to Róbert Boženík, who netted "Boavista"'s second goal.

Despite a late push, "Casa Pia" held firm to secure victory.

He had 39 touches, made one key pass, and created one big chance.

The Nigerian attempted 14 passes, completing 10, and was successful in his solitary dribbling attempt.

Defensively, he contested three aerial duels, winning one, and excelled in ground battles, winning 7 out of 10 duels.
