Latest transfer news: Garnacho between "Chelsea" and "Napoli"

Chelsea and Manchester United discuss Garnacho transfer, but the player favors Italy

According to reports, "Chelsea" have received a 'major setback' as "Manchester United" are prepared to turn down an offer for Alejandro Garnacho. "Chelsea" are among the clubs eager to sign Garnacho after "United" made their academy graduate available for transfer. A complete overhaul is needed at "Old Trafford", but they need to offload players before any acquisitions as head coach Ruben Amorim operates under a tight budget. "United's" struggles over the past 18 months have left much of their squad vulnerable to sales.

Garnacho is a prime candidate to depart, as his sale would provide pure profit and he does not fit into Amorim's preferred 3-5-2 formation. "Napoli" are understood to be leading in the pursuit of Garnacho, but transfer insider Fabrizio Romano has confirmed "Chelsea's" interest. He also mentioned that sealing the deal might depend on internal club decisions.

Italian sources claim Garnacho prefers a move to "Italy", though "Chelsea" face a hindrance because "United" prefer selling him abroad. Romano further stated that "Chelsea" are evaluating potential moves, but "United" are considering bids due to Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR). "Garnacho" remains a lucrative sale prospect for "United" to improve their financial standings.
