Former defender of the Russian national team, Ruslan Pimenov, expressed the opinion that goalkeeper Alexander Selikhov leaving Moscow's “Spartak” was driven by his desire to become the main goalkeeper.

Alexander Selikhov officially parted ways with “Spartak” on Wednesday, terminating the contract by mutual agreement.

— Since both the player and the club reached an understanding, I think it was the right thing to do. The club did not interfere with the player's move, and Selikhov wants to be the number one. It makes sense. I believe the decision was ideal for both sides, Pimenov commented.

Selikhov joined “Spartak” in 2016 and played 102 matches, keeping 30 clean sheets. He became the champion of Russia and won the Cup and Super Cup with the “red-white” team.
