It has been disclosed that Galatasaray's star, Wilfried Zaha, has discovered a new club following the ending of his contract with Olympique Lyon. On the day Fenerbahçe unveiled the controversial signing of Milan Skriniar, Galatasaray announced Zaha's agreement termination with Olympique Lyon and his temporary move to the MLS team Charlotte FC.
As stated by the Galatasaray club, the agreement with Olympique Lyon concluded mutually, and the player will now represent Charlotte FC until January 17, 2026. During this time, Charlotte FC will pay a fee of 2,800,000 USD.
Additionally, Zaha renounced part of his salary amounting to 2,376,000 EUR. Should Zaha participate in 15 matches for Charlotte FC or notify by December 15, 2025, the loan can be extended until June 30, 2026. Then Charlotte FC will make an additional payment of 1,300,000 USD, and Zaha will forego 800,000 EUR of his earnings.
Performance-related bonuses are foreseen for the 2025 and 2026 seasons.
