Serhiy Rebrov Reflects on Dynamo's Defeat in the Europa League
"Dynamo" remains pointless after the match against "Ferencvaros". Serhiy Rebrov discusses the challenges facing the team.
An extraordinary duel of "Kolos" and "Shakhtars". The fate of the match was decided by own goals and contentious referee decisions.
For three full matches "Kolos" did not allow opponents to score, except for a minute in the game with "LNZ" and 58 minutes against "Shakhtar". Essentially, from "miners" they did not concede - it was their own goal.
At the 59th minute in the game "Shakhtar" went on the counterattack. Sudakov rushed through the center, made a pass to the left to Zubkov, who planned to return the ball but was intercepted by Krasnyk - and skillfully directed it into his own goal, right under the post. This determined the outcome of the game.
However, the ending could have been ironic. In the closing minutes "Kolos" charged up the right flank, sending the ball into the goal area, where Efim Konoplya... accidentally redirected it into his own net, right under the post. But the fans did not reach the climax of the tragicomedy since previously there was a foul on Pedro Enrique, which the referee confirmed after a VAR review.
The match as a whole was unpredictable. As expected, "Shakhtar" had more possession of the ball, yet until the own goal, "Kolos" was significantly more aggressive in attacking and managed twice as many corner kicks. The "miners" constructed their attacks slowly and without much ingenuity, only a few times breaking through the tight defense of the hosts with fast passes.
After conceding the goal, "Kolos" opened up a bit, creating a few chances, but this also allowed "Shakhtar" to implement more offensive plays. The "Kovalivtsi" goalkeeper Pakhulyuk saved his team twice, fending off dangerous shots from Zubkov and Bondarenko. However, in general, the guests' performance left no lasting impression, still grappling with a gameplay crisis.
