Stanislav Cherchesov shared his views

Stanislav Cherchesov shared his views on Kazakhstan's performance in the Nations League and the upcoming goals for the coaching staff.

The head coach of Kazakhstan's national team, Stanislav Cherchesov, stated during his interview on Match TV that, based on the results of the group stage in the Nations League, he could rate himself no higher than a C-minus. He emphasized that although the external results might seem modest, significant internal restructuring is underway.

Cherchesov explained that amid certain uncertainties, it was essential to decide on a strategy: either to strive for points at any cost or to prepare the team for the World Cup qualifiers. In line with these objectives, the team has been undergoing significant reorganization, including bringing in new players.

There have been certain changes in personnel — four players joined from the youth team, and the defensive scheme was updated. Despite all these changes, Cherchesov admitted, the speeds demonstrated by the teams of Austria and Norway are still considerably faster.
