“We’re not assuming anything as defending champions,” said South Africa’s goalkeeper Andile Dlamini following the CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations 2025 draw ceremony in Morocco. She highlighted the determination of "Banyana Banyana" to work hard in preparation for defending their title. “This competition will be fierce. Teams have become stronger, and it will all come down to game day performance,” she noted. “For many African girls, this tournament is where dreams begin, and "South Africa" is ready to showcase its talent once more.”

Host nation "Morocco" is equally eager to make a significant impact. Coach Fatiha Laassiri expressed pride and confidence in the home team's prospects. “Playing at home offers a tremendous advantage,” she stated. “Our supporters will boost the players, and we will strive to keep the trophy in Morocco. It’s not going to be easy, but our objective is to deliver peak performance and compete for victory.”

Rwandan referee Salima Mukansanga, a pioneer in the field, remarked on the tournament’s competitiveness. “Every team is coming prepared to fight, compete, and win,” Mukansanga noted. “It will be a football festival, and only the best team will emerge victorious. It’s going to be challenging, but it will definitely be worth watching.”

The 15th edition of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations is scheduled from July 5 to July 26, 2025, featuring 12 teams divided into three groups. Defending champions "South Africa" are teamed with "Ghana", "Mali", and "Tanzania" in Group C. Group C Hosts "Morocco" will face "Zambia", "Senegal", and DR Congo in Group A, while Group B includes 11-time champions "Nigeria" alongside "Tunisia", "Algeria", and "Botswana".
