In an interview on MATCH PREMIER, Vladislav Radimov explained why Aleksander Erokhin remains a 'joker' in Zenit and the challenges the midfielder faces in gaining a starting spot.
Former "Zenit" player Vladislav Radimov shared his thoughts on MATCH PREMIER about why midfielder Alexander Erokhin cannot secure a place in the club's starting lineup. Radimov noted that this season, the 35-year-old midfielder has participated in 23 matches across all competitions, scoring five goals and making three assists.
— If I were in Erokhin's position, — Radimov ponders, — I would have approached the coach after the match with "Orenburg" with the question: "How many more do I need to score to be in the lineup?" However, the coaching staff well understands how Erokhin performs in training and knows his physical state. The club has long assigned him the role of a 'joker', coming onto the field at critical moments, but this status might not satisfy any player who dreams of regular play in the starting lineup. The solution is with Erokhin himself and his relationship with coach Semak.
Radimov expressed this view in the "Year's Results" program on MATCH PREMIER.
