Updated prize amounts for CHAN

CHAN 2024 in Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda significantly boosts its prize pool to enhance the tournament's level and team competitiveness.

Today, the Confederation of African Football announced a substantial increase in the prize fund for the African Nations Championship, known as CHAN 2024, to be held in Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda. The winners of the tournament will now have the chance to win a prize of USD 3.5 million, representing a 75% increase.

The total prize fund of the event has also been raised to USD 10.4 million, marking a 32% improvement. CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming championship and emphasized the importance of investments in the tournament for the growth of African players.

For African teams, the CHAN tournament becomes a crucial platform for developing the young and promising generation of players, facilitating their integration into the global football community.

The start of CHAN 2024 is scheduled for Saturday, February 1, 2025, with the final match taking place on Friday, February 28, 2025. Qualified countries include Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Morocco, among others, with two more nations to join after qualification rounds.
