A three-day workshop in Liberia

A three-day workshop in Liberia for doctors discusses advanced medical practices and anti-doping measures

In Monrovia, the capital of Liberia, a three-day medical seminar for Zone A West African specialists commenced on December 2 and will continue until December 4. The seminar was inaugurated by CAF Executive Committee Member Mustapha Raji, who is also the president of Zone A and the Liberia Football Association. This event aligns with CAF's plan to enhance the competitiveness of African football on a global stage.

The event, organized by CAF Medical Manager Dr. Boubakary Sidiki and CAF Anti-Doping Unit Manager Sherif Abou El Enein, focuses on the latest advances in football medicine and anti-doping measures. The program began with a detailed session on MRI protocol, followed by an update on CAF's anti-doping strategy for 2023–2025.

The subsequent two days will focus on the importance of anti-doping procedures and the process of using MODOC—a paperless system used by CAF doping control officers. Player health and safety will take center stage in the final part of the program, where Dr. Yasser Abdel Rahman will discuss immediate steps to be taken in cases of suspected concussion, heat stroke, or other medical emergencies occurring during a match or training.

This CAF seminar follows another successful medical workshop, held on the sidelines of the recently concluded CAF Women's Champions League in Morocco, for the doctors of women's First Division League teams.
